The Pink Polish Salon

I won't even tell you how long it's been since I last had my hair touched by a professional.  It may or may not have been before I had any children.  This is pretty obvious to anyone who knows me in real life.  My hair is stick straight, I let it air dry, I dye it occasionally at home, and trim the ends myself.

About a year ago, I wanted a change so I asked my Facebook friends who they go to for their hair.  The results were widely varied which only added to my indecision.  I ended up not going anywhere again.

When my friend Erica renewed her cosmetology license in October, I jumped at the chance to get my hair done by someone I knew and trusted.  She started working at The Pink Polish.  We traded pictures on Pinterest of hair ideas and I scheduled a cut and color.

The salon was opened last April by owner Sharon Sherman.  When I made the appointment with Erica, I warned her that I would have to bring D since we're breastfeeding.  She was excited to have him there, but I had my husband on call to come pick him up if he got too fussy.  With the reflux, D is pretty high maintenance.

Once there, I saw how kid and family friendly the salon was.  Sharon had her grandchildren and her doggies there with her.  There were big pictures on the walls of her family.  Right away, she took D and was snuggling him while Erica started on my hair.

We got through the color with him mostly snoozing, took a break to feed him, and then D started getting a bit fussy.  Sharon insisted I didn't call my husband to come pick the baby up, which really reassured me that she didn't mind his crankiness.  I relaxed, D did too, and we finished the haircut!

Erica really took the time to listen to what I had to say: I won't be able to style my hair on most days, but occasionally I will straighten it.  She gave me a cut that would compliment the length while adding layers to make it more interesting.  The color is also perfect!  Next time I think we'll try some highlights in a bold color like red or purple!  If you're local and you'd like to make an appointment with her, call (717)685-1259 or check The Pink Polish out on Facebook!

On Sunday, February 17th, The Pink Polish will be hosting a Princess Party! You can bring your princess in her royal attire and pamper her with an afternoon of treats from 12 - 4 pm.  For $5.00 your princess will get a mini mani, mini pedi, refreshments and surprises!
