Grape Sparklers

This may be our favorite Cooking with Kids recipe yet! We almost couldn't stop snacking on these delicious treats to take a picture. This recipe gives grapes a bit of crunchy sweetness from a secret ingredient: Jello!

Our preschool loves cooking with me so we are both thoroughly enjoying Rainy Day Mum's Cooking with Kids A to Z series! We are on the letter G for grapes!

We've had grapes rolled in lime Jello before but E and I wanted to get creative with a few different flavors. All you need for this sweet snack is grapes and any flavors of Jello you'd like to try. We used cherry, blue raspberry, and, wait for it, GRAPE! Yes, we had a laugh about making grape flavored grapes!

Wash your grapes and let them drain in a colander. You want them to be slightly damp but not soaked.

Roll into your flavoed Jello powder straight from the packet. This part can be a bit messy and sticky. We used our hands which are now slighly stained from the red cherry Jello. You could also use spoons.

Pop the grapes into the fridge for a few hours. The Jello coating will get crunchy and sparkly which is why we call these Grape Sparklers! The bonus is that opening the packets, putting the grapes off the stems, and rolling them in the powder is all fabulous fine motor work for your little ones, too!
