Spelling Sensory Sink

Our kids love sensory play activities! We used an indoor sensory sink as an invitation to explore letters and work on spelling.

Create an alphabet sensory sink for kids to explore and name letters while working on spelling names and words!

We plugged one of our bathroom sinks and filled it with soap foam and letters! To make the soap foam, mix up a few tablespoons of water with a squirt of dish soap. I use our electric mixer to get it super frothy very quickly. I layered the soap foam with our transparent letters and invited the kids to dig in!

This was the perfect activity for a rainy day. Both kids were able to explore the same activity at their academic level.

Our preschooler has been working on spelling his own name. He searched for the letters he needed and then put them in order.

I challenged our older daughter to spell words she knows. She surprised me by spelling her review of this activity!
