Llama Llama Red Pajama Movement Game | Still Playing School

Llama Llama Red Pajama Movement Game

After sitting still for a great book our kids need to get up and move! We created a gross motor movement game to go with the book Llama, Llama Red Pajama for this month's Virtual Book Club for Kids.

A fun chase and tag game to play after reading Llama Llama Red Pajama

We love Anna Dewdney's Llama Llama series but our very first favorite of  the books was Llama Llama Red Pajama! I have a soft spot in my heart for this book because I relate so very well to Mama Llama!

After you read this adorable story play this chase and tag game inspired by Llama Llama Red Pajama. Choose one child to be Baby Llama. Baby Llama is "it" and hides his or her eyes while the other children line up all and an equal distance from Baby Llama. With the eyes still closed Baby Llama says, "Llama, Llama, RED Pajama!" and any child wearing red has to take a step closer to Baby Llama. This continues as Baby Llama replaces red with other colors and the children quietly creep closer and closer.

Whenever the child pretending to be Baby Llama wishes he or she may decide to look and shout, "Mama! Mama!" while beginning to chase the other kids. The first child tagged is the new Baby Llama. I can just imagine a whole group of kids wearing their pajamas to a sleep over or a pajama day at school and playing this game!
