Brood X periodic cicadas are emerging after 17 years this summer! We wanted to share the Cicada Safari app with you as well as a free printable observation sheet that you can use to track the ones you find!

Periodical cicadas spend 17 (or 13) years underground after hatching. Then they emerge, as Brood X in the summer of 2021, to complete their life cycle.

Dr. Gene Kritsky partnered with the Center for IT Engagement at Mount St Joseph University in Cincinnati Ohio to create the app Cicada Safari.
