We had a chance to do some St. Patrick's Day baking one evening after D fell asleep. E is so into the holidays and this was the perfect chance to spend some solo time with her.
I used a sugar cookie mix that I had on hand from a bulk food store and added green food coloring. We didn't have a shamrock cookie cutter, but I remembered seeing some flower cookies on Pinterest that were made by rolling a ball and then cutting it with scissors. It seems like the link to the post about it was broken, so if you have it pinned and it works, please send it to me so that I can give the author credit for the idea! Bonus fine motor practice with scissors!
Cut the cookies about halfway down, first one way, then perpendicular. Then smoosh the points so they are rounded.
Ours weren't super sweet, but we liked them that way. You could decorate or glaze. I store them in an air tight container with a piece of bread to keep them soft. Enjoy!
