Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Window Activity

Virtual Book Club is featuring Bill Martin Jr. books this month! We chose our favorite, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and worked on fine motor skills and literacy with a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Sticky Window Tree!

Create a sticky coconut tree to bring Chicka Chicka Boom Boom to life for kids as they learn the alphabet!

Our kids love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! I used construction paper and tissue paper to make the coconut tree which I taped to the window. I covered that with contact paper, sticky side out, also taped on top.

Discount School Supply's letter jewels are perfect for alphabet play on the light table or in a window! They are transparent and colorful so they were the perfect addition for our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom sun catcher activity!

Both our toddler and our preschooler jumped right in to add letters to the sticky coconut tree. You can see that D added them randomly, upside down, and backwards, but E liked putting the letters in order as she retold the story.

This is definitely a literacy activity that the kids will revisit over and over that looks lovely in a sunny window. I will occasionally reinforce the tape and reapply with new contact paper because they love having interactive invitations to create in their window
